Solo Exhibition, 2025
The pieces in this exhibition were created during my three-week artist residency at Sapporo Tenjinyama Art Studio in Japan. The idea of in-betweenness, often described as the experience of being situated between multiple cultural, societal, or temporal contexts, shaped both the themes and the processes behind this body of work. I was drawn to the komorebi effect produced by shifting light and leaves, the subtle vibration between printed images and hand-drawn marks, and the spatial dialogue created across two connected walls. The works on view reflect my visual experiments in observing and reinterpreting experiences in Sapporo through the lens of in-betweenness.
